Street Fighter IV Launch Event

Posted in Event Coverage with tags , , , , , , on May 31, 2009 by Carlos Macias

[NOTE: Street Fighter IV was released earlier this year and Capcom celebrated with style. I went to “cover” it with a few friends and had a blast going hands-on with the title in a huge venue with hundreds of fans. I got a cool, SF-emblazoned hat as well! I’ll update with more pics later…]

Latest Draft Dated February 2, 2009 — Kezins’ history with Street Fighter IV has been well documented, but last night was the icing on the cake. Capcom celebrated 20 years of Street Fighter and we took pictures of the proceedings. Continue reading

Klonoa Review (Wii)

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , , on May 31, 2009 by Carlos Macias

[NOTE: Klonoa might have gotten rave reviews back in the PS1 days but the remake, as you can see by reading below, didn’t grab me the same way as the rest of the nostalgia-trippin’ industry.]

Latest Draft Dated May 5, 2009
Published by: Namco Bandai Games
Developed by: Paon Corp
Genre: Action
US: May 5, 2009
MSRP: $29.99

Our Score: 6.5/10

Originally, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile was released in ’97 to prove that platformers did not have to be completely synonymous with Italian plumbers and jumping-and-stomping abilities. The decade-plus games returns on the Wii with no subtitle and upgraded graphics. Should you care? Continue reading

Yakuza 2 Review (PS2)

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , on May 31, 2009 by Carlos Macias

[NOTE: I’ll be using this site mainly to keep my older stories, reviews, etc. alive — those that site “upgrades” elsewhere have made obsolete. First up is my review for Yakuza 2 which was a great title that I’m glad I swooped up right when it came out. Heard it’s a lil’ hard to come by nowadays…]

Latest Draft Dated Sept. 19, 2008 — While everyone is looking to the future of gaming with fancy console boxes and downloadable titles, we haven’t forgotten an old favorite: the PS2. Sure, it’s on its last legs but continues to prove a worthy contender with Yakuza 2, a Japanese crime drama that guises its budget price with excellent gameplay. Continue reading

The Legend Lives?

1965 Red Mustang Pedal Car Lg

Instead of having the generic, automated “I just got started on WordPress, woohoo!” first post. I’ve revised it to let you, the reader, know what’s up. This is mah blog. I’ll be writing about stuff. I promise to update it from time to time and for it to be — hopefully — better than my first foray into web publishing: Video Game Trackers. Hey! I had just learned basic HTML code on HowStuffWorks at the time…this will be a “no judging” zone.

But feel free in guessing what I was playing at the time!
